Whats on in Alicante 1–7 December – Your Complete Guide to the Puente Week

As Spain rolls into the early-December puente — the double bank-holiday built around Día de la Constitución (6 December) and Inmaculada Concepción (8 December) — the city slips into festive mode. Lights are up, plazas are buzzing, and Alicante feels brighter than it has any right to in early winter.

If you’re wondering whats on in Alicante 1–7 December, here’s everything worth your time: parades, concerts, flamenco, markets, exhibitions, cinema, and a good scattering of free events.

🎉 Highlights of Whats on in Alicante 1–7 December

Moros y Cristianos Procession — Saturday 6 December (Centro)

The big one for this week. Alicante brings back its San Nicolás Moros y Cristianos parade — a spectacular procession of Moorish and Christian armies sweeping through the historic centre. Expect proud brass bands, silk banners, armour that glints under streetlights, and the sort of ceremony that reminds you Spain takes its traditions seriously.

This is all to honour the Patron Saint of Alicante, who is of course, Saint Nicholas.

  • Where: Starts at Plaza Luceros and wil likely make its way along Alfonso Sabio , past the Market and down La Rambla and ending in the Plaza Ayuntamiento.
  • When: Saturday 6 December (time TBC) We’ll update it as soon as we know. Probably late afternoon / evening.
  • Why go: Because nothing else this week is as uniquely Alicantino.

The Waterboys — El Muelle Live (Puerto) – Saturday 6 December

🎄 Christmas in the City

Giant Belén — Plaza del Ayuntamiento (Centro)

Alicante’s famous record-breaking oversized nativity scene returns — towering figures and all. It’s slightly surreal, always photogenic, and absolutely part of December here.

Traditional Nativity Scene — Ayuntamiento Hallway (Centro)

This one is more hidden…Inside the Ayuntamiento hallway opposite he giant figures sits the opposite kind of Belén: handcrafted, detailed, nostalgic, and quietly beautiful. A tiny antidote to all the bigness.

  • Where: Entre Bambalinas (Centro, Av. de la Constitución 9)
  • Music: Jazz, blues, swing and assorted acoustic sets
  • When: Evenings on selected nights each week (typically mid-week and weekends)
